Meditation is fun (it is?? đ), meditation calms, meditation sharpens your attention and enables more flow states.
Less obviously, meditation helps getting out of to-do mode. It helps stop the constant train of thoughts which lead you to be constantly productive, doing something, reading, thinking⊠and feeling so tired and stressed out as a consequence. Get me a beer for relief!
Actually it doesnât truly stop the train, I should break out. At least not before years of intense practice. But it frees your from it. In a meditative state, you are much more in tune with your internal energy and can realize how a task will divert you from it, instead of building up on it.
It lets you notice whenever youâre forcing yourself to do something you donât want to, and the little depression mood that ensues.
It also helps you incarnate what I will call the intuitive mind. The intuitive mind is a kind of general flow state. In this state, distractions donât bother you, you stay on track. You see life impressionistically. Only what matters stands out. Youâre not necessarily in a deep flow like when youâre single focussed on something: you might be browsing activities through the day. The only constant is: you feel aligned. You donât feel rushed. You feel energy.
Meditation has this power to awaken your inner energy. Call it libido. Call it Kundalini (for the most intense experiences). By keeping you in touch with your inner states, it helps you add coal to the brasero, instead of drowning it in endless âmust dosâ.
Must dos deplete. Want tos excite.
My explanation is that by increasing your vital energy, itâs much easier for you to follow that signal. That which signals you forward, on your right path. Usually, this signal is weak, tentative. Sometimes itâs dead and youâre in depression. Meditation helps you revive the flame, blow on the hot coals of your spirit, however deep down they are. Then itâs the beacon that shows you the next step to take.
By practicing, youâll encounter more and more of those states, and beware, you might get addicted. Life flows freely in the land of liberated energies. Life flows through you, thereâs no effort, just navigation. Itâs pretty thrilling. Make sure youâre ready đ
Where is this path leading? Iâm not sure. Depends on your cosmology :) But what I believe is that your energy is your strength. Itâs where your superpowers lie. Itâs what youâre meant to do. Has someone designed the whole thing? Maybe not, but who am I to know?
At least it feels good. And not the bad-good-feeling. The good-good feeling. Know the difference? You know, the kind of good that has meaning, that lifts you up. Not the kind where you know something critical is missing to the picture. The one where youâve hurt someone, many ones, yourself maybe, in the process.
Meditate every morning before your routine day, and youâll get there one day: in the launchpad, ready to flow your day riding your best energy and giving the best you have to offer. Just like I find myself writing this, still contemplative of how much energy surrounds you when you open yourself to it.
Maybe youâve guessed my opinion hereâŠ
âŠMeditation is great!
